Laying the tracks for a single check-in and check-out
The question from the NS:
When you travel with public transport you have to ‘transfer’ when you change to another transport company. Both travellers and the NS found that confusing. It makes travelling by public transport more complicated and ensures mistakes during transfers. The NS’s question to us: can we move to one simple check-in and check-out method?

What we did:
Together with the NS and Translink, we carried out various pilot programmes. The predominant questions were: Do travellers make fewer mistakes using the new method? And is it still possible to distribute the proceeds easily and equally amongst the various transport companies?
